About Me

I have been a vice principal at a K-8 school for four years and can't imagine doing anything else.  Okay, maybe that's not totally true...I can imagine being a principal in the near future.  I love connecting with other educators, administrators, and collaborating online.  Working with students and teachers inspires me.  I strive to grow as an administrator and help students reach their full potential.

I originally wanted to start a blog to provide practical tips/tricks/advice for teachers;however, it morphed into a place for me to share my life, experiences of being an administrator, and my love for crafts.

On a personal note...I'm married to my high school sweetheart. Love my hubby!  I have a 17 year old son who is such a wonderful young man. I love going to the movies, obsessed with planners, being crafty, and a good coffee.  I'm one happy lady!!  #lovemylife #lovemylittlefamily

Craft Room

My craft room is currently a mess!  I moved to a bigger room in my house.  A few months ago I mentioned to my husband that I would like to switch rooms with my son...well when he moved out & went to college.  He currently is a senior in high school.  Well I said something to my son about it and  he said let's make the move now, why wait.  He is such a good kid.

Well I'm now in the bigger room, but it's nowhere put together. My hubby just put up shelves in the closet.  It looks really good.  Now I need to organize my goodies.  He is also going to put up a peg board in the closet where I can hang up gift bags...my gift wrap station!  So excited!! I bought some cupboards from IKEA, but didn't realize I needed to get the shelves inside.  Another trip to IKEA, yay!  I love that store for my craft furniture. The hubby not so much.  LOL!  I also want to get a table for the middle of the room.  I need to find the perfect size.  I'm sure IKEA will have something.  Here is my room in it's current stage...ugh!

I hope to get everything set up soon and get to crafting.

Back To Work/Goals for the Upcoming Week

Today was my official last day of vacation!  I went to a movie & went shopping for some clothes for work.  It was a pretty good day...got a lot of good deals at JcPenny's.  I still need to find a pair of comfortable shoes.  I can't seem to find anything!!! Everything has a high hill or no strap in the back.  I'm looking for something that looks nice, but isn't a hill or flip flop...you never know a may have to run after a kid! ;) Then I came home, relaxed had pizza for dinner and headed off to my craft room to make some stickers for my planner.  Filled out my personal planner for the week and made some goals for myself.  My three goals for the upcoming week are: exercise a minimum of 3 days, don't spend excessively, and post in my blog minimum of 3 days.  I really need to stick to these goals...I can do it!  LOL!

Reasoning for the three goals:
Goal #1: The last month of school I was doing so good and lost some weight.  I was feeling good!  Vacation comes around and I start eating horrible & get lazy.  I weighed myself and I gained 7lbs...ugh!  You know I have a gym membership and don't ever use it. I need to!  I'm thinking that I take my gym clothes to work and go exercise right after work or walk around my neighborhood...maybe catch some Pokemon. Hehe! :) Oh and I will be packing my lunch to work too.  That way I don't need to get any fast food.

Goal #2: Not going to lie...I love to shop!   Not for clothes or anything like that, but for crafty stuff and planner stuff. I do it too often.  I need to give myself a budget or stop and ask myself do i really need it.  The answer is probably, NO!  I'll try my best.

Goal #3:  I really like the idea of blogging.  I'm somewhat worried about criticism, but then at the same time this is for me.  I'm not trying to be a professional blogger or writing.  I'm just letting my thoughts and ideas flow.  I'm going to try and not get to caught up in the structure of my writing and just let it flow...kinda like a journal!?! So if some of my posts are all over the place just go with it. :)   I want this to be fun for me and you!

Well, I'll keep you up-to-date on my goals at the end of the week.  So excited to get started back to work tomorrow.  Students don't start until August 4th.  I'll be preparing last minute schedules and getting ready for the staff.

Here is a funny for you!!!

Summer Vacation

Summer break is going by fast! I go back to work in two weeks.  Relaxation & craftiness...just about sums up this summer break.  I didn't fly off to any exotic place or go on many trips, but I don't have any complaints.  My family and I did day trips here and there.  I enjoyed going to the movies, shopping (maybe too much), and meeting up with my friends at Starbucks.  I'm ready to get back to work...

I'm excited for this upcoming school year.  It will be my fourth year as a Vice Principal. I'll be heading to a different school this year.  A different school in the sense that I have not been an administrator at this school; however, it is familiar to me.  I started my educational journey at this school as a Kindergarten teacher. Let's see I taught Kinder, 1st, 2nd, 4th, & 5th at this school and I was a Program Coordinator too!

I'm leaving a great school, but looking forward to new opportunities.

Here's to the last two weeks of vacation!
